C.V.S. Boone starts jubilee year with Super Attic Sale
From October 2008 onwards, the ‘Centrum voor Scriptophilie’ will celebrate its 25 years of existence. Managing director Mario Boone has put together an ambitious program with something special every month, from an exhibition of book and reference catalogue publications to a touristic “Day of Economic History”. The highlight of the year however, will be on March 21-22 when the C.V.S. will organize a “Best of the Best” Jubilee Auction in Antwerp, combined with a large International Bourse and Collectors’ Evening Party.
The launch is scheduled for October 18th when a so-called “Super Attic Sale” should appeal to dealers and investors alike. The live auction will include some 1000 different shares and bonds in quantities of 100 to many thousands. With the earliest pieces dating from the mid-1850s, this one-time auction will cover 150 years of worldwide financial history. Originating from +50 countries from around the world, this sale – with an estimated total of over 500.000 certificates - will be an excellent opportunity for resellers and investors to obtain old shares in sufficient quantities for marketing & publicity purposes as well as for internet sales and refreshment of bourse material. Collectors on the other hand will through this auction get a better understanding of the availability of some pieces, hence increasing the transparency of the international scripophily market. The auction is in full preparation and regular info updates will be forwarded to the specialized press and be published on the company’s website www.booneshares.com.
